International contract design and contract management with FIDIC
The planning and implementation of cash centers (greenfield and brownfield approach) at Central Banks, commercial banks and CiT companies are usually international projects in which specialists from home and abroad contribute their valued expertise and products, all designed and implemented fit for purpose.
Cash InfraPro recommends the use of globally recognized FIDIC (Fédération Internationale des Ingénieurs Conseils) contract standards for these international construction and plant engineering projects, and the associated IT projects with hardware and software.
FIDIC contract standards offer benefits
Cash center projects require a project organization with international project participants from the area of construction and plant engineering as well as IT hardware, software and security technology. Such complex projects have points of contact with different legal systems and cultures. Usually, national standard terms and conditions (VOB/B in Germany, AFNOR in France, SIA in Switzerland, NEC4 or JCT in England, AIA in the United States), which are embedded in the respective national legal system, help with the contract design and subsequent project management. However, the individual national legal systems often differ considerably and even the legal classification into legal families (civil law legal system, Anglo-American legal systems, religious legal systems) show just few similarities.
The FIDIC standard contracts were therefore developed for international construction and plant engineering, which can be adapted as well for digitalization projects. FIDIC terms are tailored to the needs of organizing and managing an international cash center project and regulate it from planning to implementation. It is worth to point out that FIDIC focuses on practical execution, and thus, on project management and project success.
Qualification of Cash InfraPro in FIDIC contract management
Within the framework of the FIDIC contracts, Cash InfraPro takes over the position of "Consulting Engineer" for customer projects with international participation. The Cash InfraPro project team provides required technical qualifications (e.g. as a graduate engineer) specialized in the planning and implementation of cash center projects, as well as the legal background with additional FIDIC qualifications, to execute your project under FIDIC successfully – fit for purpose.
